I don't believe that is accurate, since I did a typical install and I
still had the same COM surrogate errors. I also tried custom and
complete, and all installations gave me the same errors.

Note that each new install was with a new and clean install of Vista
(spare drive), not restores or uninstalls of Nero.

I think it's a problem with the codec itself, not just the installer.

Still it needs to be corrected and Ahead has "Vista compatible"
splashed all over their main page, which it is not.

Re: RTM Vista and Nero 7

No dice. I already have FFDShow codec pack installed. Still have the run 32
error. It was fine before Nero, all crapped up after Nero. My guess would be
that the problem is Nero.

Except I don't have any DivX clips, all mine are MPEG or MOV. It's only
giving the error on MPEG files

Yeah it still does it. I switched to Roxio 9.
No problems.

Re: RTM Vista and Nero 7

Roxio 9 looks good, if Nero don't sort the problem out I'll consider getting
it.

Yes, it causes the same issue with MPEG's as well. Just do as I said in the
original message, and your problems will go away.

Alternatively perform a full install, with all options and then run all the
software once, to force registration of all the codecs. Again, it's down to
poor packaging by Ahead.
