ntbackup is missing

I backed up my Windows XP files on external drive using ntbackup. After I
installed Vista I had to learn that there is no ntbackup application. Where
do I get one so I can extract my files.

Re: ntbackup is missing

It is on your XP install cd

Re: ntbackup is missing

Is it just one file to copy?

Re: ntbackup is missing

I found the files on Windows XP CD, but these files are compressed:

ntbackup.ex_
ntbackup.hl_

How do I uncompress the files?

Re: ntbackup is missing

Depends on the version of XP you have. You can search your disk for
ntbackup

Re: ntbackup is missing

Windows automatically uncompresses when you copy (you can just drag and drop
from the cd). You will have to add the last character to the file name

Re: ntbackup is missing

I have Windows XP PRO.

I used expand.exe to extract content of the ntbackup.exe. But it now
requires ntmsapi.dll. How far should I go and is it really safe?
