Favorite Links are empty in Windows Explorer

After a few hours of having Vista RTM installed, I noticed that the Favorite
Links area that is shown on the top of the navigation pane in Windows
Explorer just says (empty) now. If I click the folder location the
shortcuts are still there, but they are missing from the pane itself. I
just moved the folder bar all the way to the top now, but I'm curious if
anyone else has had the same problem. I've attached a screenshot.

Did you use some sort of registry fix
to remove the 'shortcut arrows' on the
desktop icons?

Re: Favorite Links are empty in Windows Explorer

Yes, I did (with TweakVI, as a matter of fact)
You think that is it?

Re: Favorite Links are empty in Windows Explorer

No, clean install. And they were there for a while. But not now!

Re: Favorite Links are empty in Windows Explorer

I know that's the reason.

Undo what you did.

Re: Favorite Links are empty in Windows Explorer

You're right, Michael. I undid that tweak and they returned. It's funny;
deep in the back of my mind I wondered if that was the problem. Sure
enough!

Re: Favorite Links are empty in Windows Explorer

The TweakVI program can be very useful.
But, it can also cause some wacky things
to happen, and in some instances... major
problems. Be careful and always have backups.
