| | Spooooky Windows Mail I am sure Windows Mail down-loaded my email this afternoon when it wasn't running (it's set up to down-load every thirty minutes). Is it really this clever or am I going round the bend? -- Jeff Gaines |

| | Re: Spooooky Windows Mail You know, I thought this happened to me once, too. I usually don't leave Windows Mail running, but this time I did, and I went into Sleep mode. When I revived the computer, there was new email waiting. Is this my imagination, or can you get email even while the computer's sleeping? You're way around the bend. Windows Mail does auto background checks, but can't when it's not running. Outlook can run in the background when the client window is not running, but not Mail. > You know, I thought this happened to me once, too. Likely what happens is that Mail has passed the 30mins (default) for auto check and as soon as the computer wakes up, it checks for new mail and has it before the monitor is ready to display the desktop. Even LCD screens take a few seconds to "wake up", and that's plenty of time to fetch a few emails. |
