Do you have more then 4GB of memory and use applications that are
    actually 64-bit ?
Unless you answer yes to both of these then 64-bit is of pretty much
no use to you and yes you will encounter problems with driver support
for x64 as not al the vendors are there yet.

So your computer cannot use *more than* 4GB of RAM.

Also, it's *64bit applications* which Mike was talking about. Unless
you do, you're not likely to get a significant benefit - more likely
you'll experience the general lack of support for 64bit drivers etc.

Unless you *know* you need the benefits of the 64bit OS, you're actually
probably better off using the 32bit version.

Tried it? I'm posting from it.

What's it like? Vista. It's not different from what you are running now.

Are the drivers easy to get? Depends on what drivers you need. Mine were
in-box. Without checking the websites for the manufacturers for your
devices we wouldn't know. That's how you find out.

    Not from my experience..

Just cause a product says Vista Compatiable doesnt mean it will be 64-bit
compatible. For example: the Microsoft Fingerprint Readers, all 32-bit
only! no planed support for 64. So vista-64 will not allow you to install
    the 32bit drivers.

So do check the web before you buy soft/hard ware for Vista 64. or go the
safe route and go with the only real supported ms product vista 32.
