Vista Home Premium AUD 415.00
" " " USD 239.00

I'm going anyway so the airfare doesn't factor
in to it.

Presumably, you'll be getting the US English version of Vista at the $US
price.

But will it understand Strine? :>

Mr Vista

From what I have gleaned from this NG,
anyone paying in ₤GB & €EU are really
going to be slugged. Seems a little
one sided. However, I'm a managerial
accountant (semi ret') and deal frequently in
'foreign' currencies and the market will most
probably dictate the prices in the long run.
'sort of like an airline price war'.

Suggestions, from many of the 'knowbies'
is, shop around !

Actually, Australians and New Zealanders
speak better English that the poms do.
No 'strine' here.

If you don't understand this, then I respectfully
suggest further education is warranted. ;{)

$239 USD equates to $304 AUD at the current exchange rate. $415 retail is about $377 before GST. The markup between $304 and $377 is about 24%. Why do I think we are being shafted - again.

Geo

History will tell you that Australia has always
been 'shafted' by MS & the US Govt'.
(refer to XP prices, when it come on the market)
They are under the impression that
Australia is a little backwater country, so they
can do whatever they like. (eg: Pine Gap)

They (mentioned above) forget that Australia
assisted in no short manner, in the 'landing' on the
moon (?) with our tracking being the only ones
in position at the time.

Yes ! Australians and New Zealanders are, again,
going to have to pay the price for living in the
Southern Hemisphere.
