Vista - cannot install windows mobile device center

I cannot install this program downloaded from MS.
The installer extracts and vista asks permission to open it, I say yes and
it extracts some more then closes without installing.

Please can anyone advise what might be wrong? The version I am downloading
is windows mobile device center beta 3. I cannot seem to find an earlier
version.

Connect your device after rebooting and see what happens.

Hmm they could have at least given a message to say so. There was just
nothing.
Thankyou, reboot and connecting worked and it installed ok.

Is it not possible to have two sync partnerships in the mobile device
centre?
My phone has been detected and all drivers installed but when I go to mobile
center it only shows the pda which is not connected, there is no option to
add another.
