| | Privilege Level on Shortcuts Grayed Greyed Out I created a shortcut to cmd.exe. I want to set it to run as Administrator right when I click on it. So I look at the options only to find the "Privelege Level" section greyed out. Why is that? |

| | Re: Privilege Level on Shortcuts Grayed Greyed Out Hello, This works fine for me. I created a shortcut to cmd.exe, right-click, click properties, under the shortcut tab click Advanced, Check Run As Administrator, click OK, click OK. -- - JB Windows Vista Support Faq http://www.jimmah.com/vista/ |

| | Re: Privilege Level on Shortcuts Grayed Greyed Out Hello, Are you clicking the Advanced button under the Shortcut tab? It sounds like you are using the checkbox under the compatability tab. The Run as administrator checkbox under the compatability tab will be greyed out for any application that has a manifest. -- - JB Windows Vista Support Faq http://www.jimmah.com/vista/ |

| | Re: Privilege Level on Shortcuts Grayed Greyed Out I right click on the Run shortcut I sent to the desktop. I get the Run Properties page and select the Shortcut tab. On the Shortcut tab I click on the Advanced button in the lower right (next to Change Icon). I get the Advanced Properties page with two options. The Run in separate memory space is checked, Run as Administrator is not, and all the text and boxes are greyed out except the title line, "Choose the advanced...." Same here, but if you create a shortcut to Cmd, it can be set to Run as Administrator. |

| | Re: Privilege Level on Shortcuts Grayed Greyed Out You mention a "run shortcut", it should be a "cmd shortcut". -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Colin Barnhorst" <colinbarharst@msn.com> wrote in message news:ED022561-DFAA-4236-9E65-9FA888D19F54@microsoft.com... > The Advanced button on the Shortcut tab.
