Windows DVD maker really slow?

I am trying to create a DVD with DVD maker and it is super slow. I have a
centrino duo at 2.00 ghz, and 2 gigs of ram and it takes about an hour to
encode.

Any else having this issue and, if so, howd you fix it?

Re: Windows DVD maker really slow?

That is a lot faster than on my computer, being a Pentium 4 with HT, running
at 2.72 GHz and 2 gigs of ram.
I haven't timed it but it takes about 2 to 4 hours on my computer to encode
the video depending on the video length.
Another reason I am holding out on an upgrade until I can get a quad
processor.

I don't thin this is an issue, well, at least if it is it's not unique to
Vista. Did you do any video authoring before? It's quite resorce-hungry task
and I'd say Vista's DVD Maker isn't significantly slower on the same
hardware than other solutions in this field.
