Blue Screen appears when I start a app.

I installed Windows Vista Business (version 6.0, build 600, english version)
on my laptop.
I turned off the UAC and logoned as Administrator.
I started to run TMShell.exe, TM is a product from Tencent
(http://www.tencent.com/, Chinese company), you can download and install it
from http://im.qq.com/tm/download.shtml (It's Chinese language).
TM app shows up. But the blue screen appears after 4 or five seconds.

That app may not compatible with Windows Vista. But why the Vista cannot
protecte itselft well from that? It's just a user level application.

My laptop is IBM Thinkpad T43, IVW. CPU: Intel 1.86, RAM 1.5GB.
I didn't install any anti-virus software.

Re: Blue Screen appears when I start a app.

What was the error message on the blue screen? Without that there is no way
to know if it was the app or if the app called a driver that is causing the
problem. It very often is a driver.

Re: Blue Screen appears when I start a app.

I cannot read anything from the blue screen. The screen messed. I mean, it
has nothing but blue color, then the computer turn off automatically.
TM is a IM tool. It supports text, audio and video message. It may require
those mutlimedia device resource from system. But Skype works fine on my
computer. I don't think there have any problem on drivers.

My major concern is, why Windows Vista cannot defend that?

Re: Blue Screen appears when I start a app.

Vista DID defend that. It kept you from using someing harmful to the
system. It shut down. Now you either have to find a way to remove the
cause or reinstall Windows. Hopefully you made an image backup right after
first installing Windows and can easily restore it.

Re: Blue Screen appears when I start a app.

Thanks. Windows Vista can start up again.
I thought it should just shut down that application instead of shuting down
itself.

Re: Blue Screen appears when I start a app.

It depends on what the app or an associated driver tried to do. Vista
handles app hangs pretty well, but corruption of the kernel, for example, is
no mere app hang or malfunction.

Why do you say that? I have a MSDN subscription account.

RE: Blue Screen appears when I start a app.

By the way, I don't want to get help. I just want to report a bug to vista
team to help them imporove this product.

Please don't judge a person before you know him, okay?

Re: Blue Screen appears when I start a app.

Bug reporting for Vista is now the same as for XP. The Vista development
team has handed off the product to Product Support Services.

http://support.microsoft.com/contact...t.aspx?WS=Wish

Yes, that's it. There is no beta team.
