| | Bluescreens galore - media playback related I'm testing Vista Ultimate edition RTM and am encountering massive blue screen problem within seconds or minutes of running any media related application. I am using the built-in audio of my NF4 motherboard (NVIDIA nForce Audio Codec Interface in Device Manager) and I suspect there's a problem with the audio support as sometimes the computer will blue screen just as the standard sound begins playing at Windows login screen. I can also expect blue screens within seconds or minutes of playing MP3s in WMP or watching videos in Media Center or any other media application. Usually a few seconds of stuttering sound accompanies the crash. If I don't run any media files, Vista seems stable as it has run overnight without crashing. This is a dual boot Vista/XP configuration and the same hardware is completely stable under XP. Are there any known driver problems with the RTM version as regards NF4 audio support? |
