Re: WEP keys

What you mean the WEP key for your work or the WEP key for your home?

Re: WEP keys

I'm talking about the WEP encryption key for a secured wireless network.

Re: WEP keys

my employer doesn't have an IT department. and, I'm not supposed to be on
the wireless network, or I would have the key.

Really. Physical access to the device or ask the person responsible is
the only real way. If you are not supposed to access it though then
don't do it. You could get your butt fired real quick.

"I'm not supposed to be on the wireless network"
Apparently the key is doing the job.

Re: WEP keys

Absolutely though I am not going to tell you how to find it. WEP is pretty
useless and only slightly better than no protection at all. Instead of
cracking your firms WEP key, get yourself some recognition and show your
firm with a couple of internet searches how easy cracking them is and get
them to upgrade to at least WPA.

Re: WEP keys

Colin;
Good answer, I was wondering of a good way for the OP to advise the
employer.

Another benefit, instead of quickly being fired, may get recognition for
identifying security weakness.
