| | vista upgrade advisor lies Well, after dl'ing 3 times to finally get a Vista img that will install, it won't. Why, because Vista upgrade advisor told me my hardware was good to go and I didnt need to install drivers for my silicon image 680 ata/raid controller. I got the green checkmark on them but when I try to install it failed and hosed my system. Had a backup but still it was a near a week old so I lost a lot of stuff. |

It is up to you, the operator, to supply (and install by clicking on "install driver") the drivers on a floppy, a CD or a DVD. There is just no way around this that I know of. -- Regards, Richard Urban MVP Windows Shell/User (using Vista 5384.4) Quote from George Ankner: If you knew half as much as you think you know, You would realize you don't know what you thought you knew. |
