Vista - Vista RTM very sluggish when accessing Word 2007, Acrobat 8.0, all applications

In the case of Microsoft Word, a surge in processor usage on a single
process (spoolsrv.exe) is noted during the starting and stopping of Word.
This is not seen on other platforms using Office 2007 Ultimate (Windows 2003
R2, Windows XP SP2, both fully patched as of 12/20/2006).

I have noticed all applications have been sluggish/non-responsive for long
periods of time (>30 seconds) since I upgraded to Vista RTM from RC2.

Upgrading from a beta version to a released version of an
operating system is never recommended. Please perform
a "clean install" of Windows Vista RTM.

I think that's part of my problem with RC2. I upgraded from RC1. Vista
RC2 makes XP seem like it runs like Greased Lightening.

My PC is more than "Vista Premium Ready".
