Windows Media Players Has Stopped Responding, Faulting Module mswm

Hello,

I just installed windows vista rc2 build 5744. Everytime I startup I get an
error that windows media player has stopped responding. Also, when I attempt
to run Windows Media player it immediately crashes with the same error. At
first I thought it was just windows media player being crappy so I downloaded
and installed winamp. When I open winamp, the exact same error occurs, winamp
has stopped responding. I dug into the event viewer and discovered the
following:

Windows Media Player Crash

Faulting application wmplayer.exe, version 11.0.5744.6324, time stamp
0x45234fea, faulting module mswmdm.dll, version 11.0.5744.6324, time stamp
0x45235887, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00031e22, process id
0xbe8, application start time 0x01c725b0a98c95c7.

Winamp Crash

Faulting application winamp.exe, version 5.3.2.1003, time stamp 0x456339e4,
faulting module mswmdm.dll, version 11.0.5744.6324, time stamp 0x45235887,
exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00031e22, process id 0x73c,
application start time 0x01c725b238c19fb8.

So my first thought was to download the dll, mswmdm, and just override the
screwed up dll. So, I downloaded mswmdm.dll from a 3rd party site, apeears to
be quite old though, version 9. I am trying to overide dll, but I cant
override it because it is always in use. I tried safe mode, and even safe
mode with command prompt and I tried using DOS to do a copy but no luck, says
access denied. Any help? PS, this dll seems to be part of the digital rights
management, worthless, I don't even want it. Thanks for any help.
