Vista - Zune 1.2 Software and Vista RC1 Build 5600

I purchased a Zune yesterday and attempted to install the software from the
CD. The software immediately went to the web-site and downloaded version 1.2
of the software (which is supposed to be Vsta compatible). The installation
failed. I have since downloaded the Zune 1.2 software from
http://www.zune.net/support and when I run setup application (ZuneSetup.exe
version 1.2.5511.0) it indicates the OS is not supported.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi Todd,

Right click the setup file, choose "run as administrator" even if your
account is an administrative one. It needs to install with elevated
privileges, and these are not invoked unless specifically chosen.

I'm sorry i forgot to mention that in my original post, I have run the
application as administrator with the same results. The setup program starts
then immediately indicates that the OS is not supported and directs me to the
Zune support site. I am wondering if this is because I am running RC1 Build
5600 and not the final RTM version of Vista.

installed fine without run as admin for me-(RTM)

I called tech support and they said that is the reason. The RC1 version isnt considered supported so the only way to do it is to find an unsupported method over the internet.
