ehRecvr.exe Error

I am using Vista RTM.

I installed 0.9.9 of TVersity and since then the media center tuner does not
work. The Windows Meida Center Receiver Service keeps on starting and then
stops working.

The following is in the error log:
Faulting application ehRecvr.exe, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp
0x4549b54f, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000,
exception code 0xc0000096, fault offset 0x026c2a3b, process id 0xa7c,
application start time 0x01c729f75cd50278.

I have uninstalled TVersity, but the same problem still occurs. I system
restored to a point before installing TVseristy, but this too has not made
any difference.

I have not installed any other software during this process.

RE: ehRecvr.exe Error

I have tried quite a bit to get rid of this problem myself. Mine is
originating from upgrading from XP Medie Center to Vista Ultimate and then
the TV tuner always crashes the receiver service whenever I attempt to access
any TV functionality in MCE:
Faulting application ehRecvr.exe, version 6.0.6000.16386, time stamp
0x4549b54f, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000,
exception code 0xc0000096, fault offset 0x01952a3b, process id 0x9f8,
application start time 0x01c72afb7890c812.
If I clean install, there's no problem. And if I disable the Hauppauge
PVR-150 and start the receiver service manually, it never closes. Driver for
Hauppauge tuner I'm using is most up to date I could find: 2.0.48.24258; and
I've tried a lot of different versions.

RE: ehRecvr.exe Error

I am not sure if I am experiencing the same problem that you have discribed.
I upgraded from XP Media Center 2005 to Vista Ultimate on my HP m7680n with a
Hauppauge PCI WinTV PCI II (26xxx). I have tried every driver I can find. I
have removed all of the software provided by Hauppauge (WinTV2000 etc) ran
the remove software and installed the driver that you listed but when I try
to setup the TV in Media Center I receive a message "Tuner Not Found" in
Media Center after I receive a Windows Message that indicates Media Center
Receiver Service Stopped and was Closed.

When you say "clean install" are you referring to Vista or tuner
software/drivers?

When you disable your Hauppauge PVR-150 are you doing this in Device Manager
and then starting the service in Control Panal Services?

Any help you can provide would be welcome.

RE: ehRecvr.exe Error

When I say "clean install" I mean choosing to install Windows to it's own
directory instead of upgrading. Unfortunately it's not really a solution to
the problem, since that solves just about any problem. Wish I had better
news though...
