Vista - Where are Windows updates stored?

Brian W n/a posts	Where are Windows updates stored? When updates are downloaded, such as Defender definitions, where are they stored on the HDD? And is it safe to delete them? With XP one could remove the Hotfix folders to free up space. Thanks in advance!
