Vista - dragging problem

dragging problem

I am running Vista RC2 , build 5744 and I have a small, intermittent
problem.

The problem is I can not drag an item. I am also having a problem resizing a
window (by putting the mouse on the edge of the window and left click hold
and then dragging it in or out).

This problem does not happen all the time, but the frequency has increased
over the last few days and as such I am at a loss what could be causing
this.
I wondered if this is a documented fault in the build of windows (5744)?

Any information or help would be gratefully accepted.

Re: dragging problem

Nicholas--

I seriously doubt it because this is the first I've seen on this and RC2
came out back in May. We would have heard of it by now. Why not reinstall
the latest driver appropriate for your mouse?

Re: dragging problem

Correction: Vista RC2 came out 10/6/06 but that was almost 3 months ago and
I haven't seen anything like this reported repeatedly.

Re: dragging problem

Unfortunately I am unable to install the drivers for my mouse yet as I have
a Logitech mouse and they do not have any vista drivers available yet.

I am hope that this only problem will go away once I go to the final version
of vista in early February and most of the software I have my computer get
the updates to make them work better in vista.

Re: dragging problem

Try the XP drivers for your Logitech mouse, I've got a cordless desktop
that works fine with the XP drivers...

Re: dragging problem

I have tried them. They start up alright, but stop responding after a short
time.

So I will wait till the Vista version comes out.

Re: dragging problem

Nic--

I did a quick search and there are a number of drivers offered that *should
work in vista on sites like

http://www.ntcompatible.com/Logitech...10_s72782.html

Logitech is not listing Vista drivers yet on the pulldown, but I haven't had
a build from 7/05 through RTM where the mouse driver for XP has not worked
perfectly. I'm using Logitech MX 1000 Laser drivers for XP on Vista. No
problems to date--full functionality.
