Vista - Amazon pricing and pre-orders for Vista

Amazon just posted pricing and pre-order forms for Vista and Office 2007.

$20.00 off Ultimate Full Version - I wonder when it will ship - I am still
waiting for Staples to come out with "something" for Vista release. I can't
remember whether it was XP or 98SE , but if you signed up you got a bag full
software and goodies.

Amazon may not ship until the 30th so use premium shipping for fastest
delivery. You should be able to get it sooner from a local retailer and
save the shipping.

Both Staples and Office Max did similar promotions.
Except no signup was required at either, at least the stores I visited the
week of Windows XP release.
Anyone walking in for Vista could leave with much more including a digital
camera or scanner, memory cards and several software titles with no net
additional cost.

IIRC, no details were available ahead of time and the fliers came out the
morning of release.
True to schedule the stores had the products on the shelves in quantities as
promised.

Actually, they cannot deliver until the 30th. Several times I've had
Amazon pre-orders show up on the day of the public release, the postmark
(or whatever you call it for a parcel) indicated it was shipped earlier.
