Overview Vista Guide for End Users

    Greetings.

We are looking to deploy Vista to users currently running Windows XP.
Does anyone know of a guide that explains the differences between
Windows XP and Windows Vista in laymans terms in terms of usage (file
copying, searching, Internet Explorer 7,etc)? Normally I would go on
the Internet to find a guide written by another IT support person (hey,
why re-invent the wheel, right?), but Vista is so new that I cannot
    find anything.

I would like a guide that explains the new search feature, User Account
    Control, etc.

    Thanks,
    Adam

A little OT, but there is a 90 minute TechNet webcast on UAC Friday, 1/12,
at 1PM PST. See: TechNet Webcast: User Account Control in Windows Vista
(Level 200) on the webcasts page on microsoft.com. Also, check out the
Windows Vista Product Guide available at

Have you looked at Vista Help? It's better than previous Windows Help

Re: Overview Vista Guide for End Users

Im trying to tell you that you should not advise anyone to "deploy" vista
    yet.
Its of alpha or beta quality and you will make a lot of people angry and
    frustrated.

Just to get a taste of what this means, please visit the internetexplorer
newsgroup and see what the simple layman is saying about
ie7. Now multiply that with about 100 and you will get the reaction to
    vista.

I am trying to help you by advising you with what any good IT person would
    say to you.
Keep away from vista until (ir if they ever) get the bugs fixed and its
    dependable.

Now if you don't like my answer... you can ignore it, but don't tell me I
    didn't warn you.

If you deny the information I am giving you then you are seeking non valid
    information...

and that will lead you to problems. If you are in charge of some IT
department... that would be a grand mistake.

The Windows Vista Product Guide may be of some use
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
A comprehensive feature-by-feature guide to Windows Vista.

Yeah, but did you read it...all of it.
This guy pointed out only half of what I came across
during the first 48 hours and the second bottle of bourbon.
(and he did it superbly, I might add)

Moreover did you go here: http://kadaitcha.cx/xp_how_to.html
This guy is not just some pissed off / disappointed bloger.

And to michail iakovou yos who pointed you /there. Kudos@!
for the Honesty - of which there seems to be a shortage.

    Get a Grip!
If you or any genuine business or organization is seriously considering
deploying this 5 year $500 million disappointment across even a lowly
    $40k worth of
    hardware...................................................................
then you probably voted for George Bush, are proud of and there is nothing
that anyone can really say except that 'youall' - get what you deserve.
However, my brother (or sister, as the politically correct may be) I lament,
as I am only as strong as the weakest link in our chain.
