    Vista RTM and RDP

    Hello.

I am not sure what setting I am missing with Vista
Ultimate. When I connect to my Vista Ultimate
machine using RDP from my XP Pro laptop, after
I log off from my RDP connection, Vista changes
the size of the launch bar when I login to it. I always
keep my launch bar on my Vista desktop (local Vista
machine) to double height. After an RDP connection,
the launch bar changes to default height!

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

It's just remembering your last setting. In other words, when you login
using RDP from your laptop at 1280x1024 and then log out it remembers the
launch bar size. So when you log back in Vista directly at 1600x1200 or
whatever, it still is using the 1280x1024 setting. Solution: Use the
same resolution on the laptop as you do on the desktop machine.

Well, that's my guess since I haven't got any idea what a "launch bar" is.

    Thanks.

I'll make sure that my resolution of my RDP connection
matches with that in my local Vista desktop. I'll see
    what happens.

    Re: Vista RTM and RDP

Well, that didn't work. I matched my RDP resolution with
my Vista desktop resolution. After an RDP connection,
Vista changes the launch bar setting on the local desktop.

    Re: Vista RTM and RDP

I see the same effect with the taskbar using RDP from XP Pro to another
XP Pro. It's annoying, isn't it? I've got the settings in the RDP
session exactly the same as in the local desktop, and I still have to
"fix" things when I log in locally after an RDP session.

    Regards,

    Dave
