Vista - is my pc Win Vista capable? Or premium ready?

On my computer there's the logo of win vista capable! This is strange because
I have this system: Intel Core2 duo E6400 (2,1 Gh for core), 2Gb ddr2 (dual
channel),Geforce 7300 SE Turbo cache 512 Mb(total memory) 64 Mb
gddr3(dedicated), Hd 350 Gb. I suppose my problem is the graphic card for
memory dedicated (64 mb), if i changed it could be premium ready?
I would use all effects of Aero.

According to your posted hardware configuration, your PC
is indeed fully capable to run any version of Windows Vista
you may desire to install.

Looks to me like you're good to go, but a better video card will certainly
improve your performance score.
FWIW, that "Vista capable" sticker should be taken with several grains of
salt, depending on the manufacturer (or packager) of the PC in question.
Case in point:
I purchased a new Gateway notebook last October with the "Vista capable"
sticker on it, after reading all the BS on their web site about not being
left behind.
I've installed Vista RTM on the notebook, and the sound is inoperative.
Supplied drivers cannot be loaded successfully, even in XP compatibility
mode.
I brought this situation to the attention of Gateway only to get this reply,
in part:

operating system that do not originally came from us is not supported.
</quote>
Basically, their position is that I'm on my own.
So, if anybody here runs across a way to get a Conexant AC Link Audio codec
to work in Vista, please let me know.

I have the same sound card on my Compaq V2300cto. The sound drivers
were installed through Windows update after I formatted the hard drive and
installed Vista Enterprise x86. If you performed an upgrade installation,
conflicting drivers may have been installed. Go to device manager,
un-install the audio drivers, check the box to delete the driver files,
reboot. After rebooting Vista should find the proper drivers through Windows
update. The driver on my laptop is version 6.14.10.575, dated 4/22/2005
through Microsoft. Have a great day.
