| | Re: Fingertip reader Martin 64bit is not supported presently, and may never be as the MS Fingerprint reader is not seen as a device that will be used in the same scenario as 64bit Vista.. Other manufacturers may take this stance with product line ups too.. | | Re: Fingertip reader 'Ok, I totally don't see this point of view! What the heck is this 'scenario'? The idea that 32bit Vista is a area that people will use a fingerprint reader, but those who have 64bit Vista are just SOL with another non Vista supported Microsoft branded paperweight? Please elaborate on the what seperates a 32bit user from a 64bit end user. I think Microsoft, bought the digitalPersona line and either don't want to bother supporting it or don't know how to program for it. Show me one reason why you can't compile the 32bit code to run on the 64bit OS. Release the code or at least release notes on how to work around the BS vista driver approval. Typical MS mind set, "no one will use our vista ultimate 64, cause no one has 64bit processors or is living in the 20th century" Just cause it says 'Hardware/Software/Compatibility' on the box doesn't make it true. I have run XP64, now Vista 64 and this is always the view point. So sad. Microsoft should have a big sticker on all its hardware "Does not work on Windows 64, cause we dont think its important" "Mike Hall - MS MVP Windows Shell/User" wrote: > Martin > > 64bit is not supported presently, and may never be as the MS Fingerprint > reader is not seen as a device that will be used in the same scenario as > 64bit Vista.. > > Other manufacturers may take this stance with product line ups too.. > > > "Martin Racette" <rat7_mobile@hotmail.com> wrote in message > news:OyVGA1ROHHA.2140@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > > Hi, > > > > I would like to know if this device will work with Vista x32 and x64 > > > > BTW. | | Re: Fingertip reader I do agree with that statement below, beside if no one makes any drivers for the hardware then no one will use the x64. But as soon as there are drivers for the hardware, in Vista x64, then more and more people wil make the move to x64, and eventually will be able to forget abou x32 software and hardware -- ----- Thank you in advance Merci a l'avance Martin "John" <John@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news 759AF62-A078-49D9-8324-9CCC587BAB6B@microsoft.com...> 'Ok, I totally don't see this point of view!
