| | WinZip 10 in TaskBar I am using WinZip with Vista RTM and there is two options if you right click on the icon in the task bar. The first one is "Close for now" and the second one is "Close and Remove - from the task bar". In Windows XP, both options show up, but in Vista, the second option is greyed out, you can't remove it from the task bar. Does anyone know how to remove this? Thanks |

| | Re: WinZip 10 in TaskBar I'm not sure why do you have problems accessing Startup folder, I was able to open both user and public folders without administratve priviledges. Folders in question are: All Users: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup Per-user: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup IMHO better way to control startup programs is using built-in MSCONFIG utility. Just find appropriate entry on the Startup tab and uncheck it, then reboot. -- Alexander Suhovey "Henry Jones" <henry@yada.com> wrote in message news:ODvqtCPPHHA.4172@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... >I am signed in as Administrator but when I try to access the startup >folder, it says access denied. > > > "Robert Blacher" <rblacher@community.nospam> wrote in message > news:A30CA084-4376-4C39-B02F-C908C98C0C17@microsoft.com... >> Delete it from your "Startup" folder. >> >> "Spanky McFly" <spanky@TheCheckIsInTheMail.com> wrote in message >> news:erWJZiNPHHA.992@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... >>>I am using WinZip with Vista RTM and there is two options if you right >>>click on the icon in the task bar. | | Re: WinZip 10 in TaskBar Oops, got me. I have no idea why you can't edit your Startup folder. Like Alexander, I can, and that's how I got rid of WinZip 11's "Quick Pick" icon. | | Re: WinZip 10 in TaskBar I would rather look for StartUpPCLon the Internet. It is free and much easier to use. | | Re: WinZip 10 in TaskBar I think I know why, it was because I went to C:\Program Data\Start Menu and I guess that isn't the way to go according to your sample. When I chose the path you suggested, it worked.
