Problem with USB External Hard Disk

Hi,

I'm having problem writing to my USB External Hard Disk. Every time I copy
files to it, they got corrupted (if I reopen them later). There is no error
during copy (which mean, the copying process is successful). To make a
simple test, just compress some files (around 10mb and above) and copy the
compress file to the external hard disk. Then open it from the external hard
disk and test the archive. I used WinAce and WinRAR.

I tried changing the hard disk (but still using the same USB External Hard
Disk case) and the result is the same. There is no such problem with USB
Flash Disk (plugged into the same USB Port).

I tried my USB External Hard Disk on my other computers (WinXP), and
everything got written without any problem.

Is there anyone out there with the same problem?

Thanks.

Re: Problem with USB External Hard Disk

Ever since I updated my video card to one with 512MB memory, getting
external USB hard drives to work reliably has been a royal pain. This is on
Vista Ultimate x64 RTM. I'm afraid all I can add to your message is "me,
too!" While I have it working at the moment, I'm not at all sure why and I
doubt it will last. :-}
