    Sidebar not working

    Hi,

This is my second post about this issue, but itīs really anoying to me not
to be able to make my sidebar to work again.

I have installed Windows Vista FINAL ( not rc1 or rc2 ) in my laptop.
Everything was going well, but one day after a reboot I noticed that my
sidebar had dissapeared from my desktop.

Untill now i have tried almost everything but nothing seems to go well.
What i have done untill now is:

Tried to run from command line => dont worked.
Tried to run double-clicking at sidebar.exe => same behavior.
Checked my status bar to see if it was running in the background => it
    is not.
checked system logs so see if in the applications or system logs i could
find something => nothing seems to go wrong.

At this point i donīt know what to do, if someone can help i will
apreciate it, i know that i am not the only one with this issue, so any
solution will help to a lot of people.

    Regards.

    Pedro Gil

Have you tried a system restore to before the problem started?

Or from an elevated command prompt run sfc /scannow

    Or try a Startup repair.

    Hi Rock,

Restore point is not an available option because I have de-activated
"system restore" points when installed my machine.

Iīm trying sfc / scannow to see what it says ;-)

I will post results here ..

Thanks for your time and help

I think Startup Repair only repairs the bcd store.

Oops, I typed it wrong. That should be sfc /scannow, no space between the /
    and the scannow.
