| | Vista Home Premium 32bit via Vista Express Upgrade I`m getting the free Vista Home Premium 32bit upgrade for my Acer laptop (cost is actually £ 14 for shipping) and as I have a Core 2 Duo 64bit CPU I was thinking why don't they offer an upgrade to 64bit version but my guess is they won't be bringing out 64bit drivers for the laptop. So I was wondering despite the driver issue could I in some way request a 64bit version from Microsoft would my licence transfer to the 64bit version. If I was able to download a 64bit version of Home Premium would I be able to use it with my existing licence. |

| | Re: Vista Home Premium 32bit via Vista Express Upgrade No. There is no compelling reason to install a 64-bit version of Windows Vista on a laptop computer, especially if the laptop manufacturer does not offer 64-bit Windows Vista drivers for the laptop's unique hardware. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Nick Le Lievre" wrote: I`m getting the free Vista Home Premium 32bit upgrade for my Acer laptop (cost is actually £ 14 for shipping) and as I have a Core 2 Duo 64bit CPU I was thinking why don't they offer an upgrade to 64bit version but my guess is they won't be bringing out 64bit drivers for the laptop. I guess not. ss. |
