| | Re: Vista Manual I * think but can't remember I saw a picture of the Product Guide--and my *guess is MSFT may be giving them out at selected events as a "hard copy," but most of the time it has been available as a download which you can print out. When the first edition was available, it was fun to play games trying to print the format (.xps) with XP which I did get done. Vista Product Guide Download: Download the guide as a Microsoft Word document or in the new Windows Vista XPS document format http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en I don't know a link or place to get the hard copy. The original was a superficial cheerleading/ad brochure that I think has it's best efficacy in elementary school class rooms. Colin Barnhorst posted that the newest version has some useful chapters though, so it probably was updated and improved. Some of the books that are showing up now on store shelves have some good under the hood stuff that you can use every day though, http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=267959011 CH "SD" <SD@NoSPAMiso.com> wrote in message news:OryWak8PHHA.3944@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > Has anybody found or seen a published manual for Vista? > > I have downloaded a WVPG RTM guide but would like to have a hard copy > manual. > > |

| | Re: Vista Manual As I mentioned I have downloaded version of WVPG RTM.xps. The guide appears as 316 pages. Trying to print it, if it did not use up a bunch of of ink cartridges it surely probably burn up the printer mechanism Though I could put it on a disk and take to a printer, like Kindo's but when you view it, it appears as online manual in IE. Thanks for your replies. You can dowload the docx version instead of the xps and it will open in MS Word 2007 (or 2003 if you have the 2007 converters installed). I downloaded the docx, opened it in Word 2007 and saved it as PDF and the size went from 61.3 MB to 6.7 MB. -- Tom Porterfield |

Word Viewer is available as free download on Microsoft web site. 2. Please don't change post order of the thread, it makes it really difficult to follow messages with mixed top- and bottom-posts. -- Alexander Suhovey |

| | Re: Vista Manual Personally I don't class the 'product guide' as a manual. To me a manual 'instructs' as to what the different features do or do not do. The Vista product guide is simply that, a product guide - ideal for a saleman to flick through and familiarise himself with Vista's features. It certainly doesn't tell you how to use them - well not in the hard copy i have, anyway. -- John Barnett MVP Associate Expert Windows Shell/User Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org The information in this mail/post is supplied "as is".
