Wireless USB Adapter

I recently installed Vista and the only hardware issue I have is with my
Wireless USB Network Adapter made by Microsoft, MN-510. Anyone have any
ideas where I could get those drivers? I know they came with a networking
package you can download for XP but doesn't work with Vista. Thanks

Re: Wireless USB Adapter

Do you have another internet connection? If so, try Windows Update. It found
my Linksys USB Wireless Adapter and downloaded the drivers for it and it
worked great. I'm sure (well, maybe not SURE!) that MS would have something
similar for their own product.

Re: Wireless USB Adapter

What you are looking for is the file mn510_100.Exe. When you
run the executable it will extract the drivers. I think you can get
the MN-510 package from:
http://members.driverguide.com/drive...riverid=113882
Once extracted (To Temp Folder), direct Vista to use the driver
from that location which is named mswusb.inf

Re: Wireless USB Adapter

Thanks for the help, unfortunately it didn't work. I got the .inf file and
directed Vista to look for it in the Temp folder (and in another folder in
which I put the file) and it tried to install. It then said that
installation failed. Any other ideas? Is it just that one .inf or are there
other files as well?

Thanks for the help.

RE: Wireless USB Adapter

We are having the exact same problem with the driver for an RTL8150 USB to
ethernet adapter. Interesting that both of these devices are USB network
devices. I eventually got the driver to install by uninstalling the device
with device manager and letting plug and play find the driver. This was after
plug and play failed the first time. No matter how many times or methods I
used to direct the system to install the specific inf file for the device, I
got a dialog in which the only information on it was a title saying "Error"
and text saying "Installation failed." For more complete information, you can
find the thread by searching for "RTL8150" in all "Windows Vista Newsgroups";
it will be the only thread found.
