MSDN Vista Ultimate license key

I have the MSDN release of Windows Vista and I installed Vista Ultimate. It
says I have to enter a key in 30 days.
Can I put my RC2 key here, or what should I do? Is it normal for a MSDN
release to request a key and activation?

Re: MSDN Vista Ultimate license key

MSDN subscribers are the only users authorized to install software
available from the MSDN subscriber web site. It requires a product key
from MSDN that only can be used by MSDN subscription subscribers.

If you are not a MSDN subscriber, the copy of Windows Vista you have
obtained is of no use to you and the MSDN subscriber that gave it to
you has seriously breached his or her MSDN subscriber licensing agreement.

And no, a RC2 product key will not work!

Re: MSDN Vista Ultimate license key

No you can not use your RC2 key you need to use your MSDN key.
The keys are available when you download from MSDN.

Re: MSDN Vista Ultimate license key

If you knew about MSDN, other than the fact that you somehow obtained a copy
of the supplied MSDN software, you would know that you need a MSDN supplied
key to activate said software.

Who gave it to you? <bait>

Just go back to the MSDN subscribers download site where you downloaded
Vista and click on the Product Keys link. There you can request a product
key for your version of Vista.

If you didn't get Vista from your personal MSDN account, then you are not
authorized to install it. You need to get a legal copy.

Re: MSDN Vista Ultimate license key

What happened when you tried your RC2 product key? Or didn't you even try?

MSDN product keys are available to MSDN subscribers by requesting a key.
Select the Product Key item in the top of the downloads page. If you are
not an MSDN subsriber then purchase a full retail edition of Vista Ultimate.
You may use that product key without have to reinstall.
