| | "cannot write to boot sector..." DURING Windows Vista UPGRADE inst i get this message everytime i try to Upgrade my XP SP2 OS to Vista Business.. it always goes through fine until the mid 20% of the "Extracting" process.. i've tried looking for the UpperFilters.bak file in the registry and its not there (a workthrough some have proposed). I have a feeling the Master Boot Record is protected by something, however ive disabled my antivirus during the install and i dont think my BIOS automatically protects it. PLEASE NOTE: I am trying to Upgrade, not do a clean install on a partition (my disk seems to be unpartitionable, but thats a different problem =[ ) Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Sam |
