I can boot from another installation. How can I manually uninstall the

Vista boots, a black screen and mouse icon appear then it stops.
Shining circle Vista logo doesn't appear and welcome/logon screen
inaccessable.

No you would not be able to uninstall through another windows. What I would
suggest is you have another windows installed and transfer the data to the
new windows.
