| | Disable Hibernation & Delete hiberfil.sys Vista RTM Version 6000. Dual booting XP & Vista I'm running low on space on the C drive and until I can find a way of resizing partitions I'm reduced to not installing much. The page file is on a different drive.I've disabled hibernation but cannot delete the hibernation file. I need the space. Can anyone help on how I do this ? Is there a partition mover/resizer that works with Vista installed ? Preferably one that does not need a cmd guru to use ? Mike |

All I need now is a partition moving tool and I'm nearly back to normal usage as in XP. |

| | Re: Disable Hibernation & Delete hiberfil.sys If you need to resize a partition, Vista does that too... Resize Partitions with Vista Disk Management In Windows Vista it is now possible to resize partitions without any data loss in the new Disk Management console. Resizing Partitions with Windows Vista: 1. Click on the Start Button and right click on Computer and select Manage. 2. Expand the Storage section and select Disk Management. 3. Then just right click on any partition and select either Expand or Shrink to change the size of the partition. This will allow you to safely resize your partitions without any data loss. | | Re: Disable Hibernation & Delete hiberfil.sys Just tried Disk cleanup. That seems to have worked nicely. steve "Troy McClure" <g@s.com> wrote in message news:F0D05541-0685-4446-8D95-AD7B1AAE3084@microsoft.com... > disk cleanup will both disable it AND delete it > > or powercfg -h off, reboot, delete it > > > > "Mike" <me@mine.com> wrote in message > news:%23u9RWYlQHHA.4448@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >> Vista RTM Version 6000.
