uninstall program

I installed a version of Trend A/V even though I was warned that there were
compatibility issues with Vista. Now when I reboot I get a warning telling
me about a problem with the program. I went to uninstall it and I get the
message "Unable to get application path. Uninstallation aborted". So how
do I get rid of this program, so I can get rid of the message when I reboot?

Thanks, Andre

Re: uninstall program

First use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility which you can download by
googling it.

That gets files and .dlls and reg orphans out of the way of an uninstall and
future install.

Then normally, in Vista:

Open Programs and Features by clicking the Start button , clicking
Control Panel, clicking Programs, and then clicking Programs and Features.

Select a program, and then click Uninstall. Some programs include
the option to change or repair the program in addition to uninstalling it.
but many simply offer the option to uninstall. To change a program, click
Change or Repair. If you are prompted for an administrator password or
confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If that process doesn't do it, then contact Trend or its support for a
tool that will help you and instructions to manually uninstall.

I would like to personally thank Cheney and Rove who are now supoenaed
for a Fitzgerald cross examination. Cheney is already on record on several
media programs contradicting irrefutable evidence. Rove has 5-6 former
grand jury transcripts that are going to hog tie him and the potential to
still be indicted for purjery. This should be as delicious as a free Vista
Ultimate.

Re: uninstall program

Unfortunately, Windows Installer Cleanup Utility doesn't see Trend, so I
don't get the option to uninstall it. I tried again to uninstall the
program using Vista's Uninstall program, but I still get this message:
"Unable to get application path. Uninstallation aborted". I tried to
remove all references of Trend in the registry, but it doesn't go away
permanently. Can you not manually remove things in Vista like you can in
XP? And why can I not delete a folder in Vista? I'm trying to delete
c:\program files\trend micro and I get the message "You need permission to
perform this action". I'm an Administrator - isn't that enough permission?

Re: uninstall program

Same thing happened to me. I can no longer uninstall Trend Micro
OfficeScan.

Re: uninstall program

Allow me to rephrase. Apologies for any ambiguity.

Has anyone made any progress in regards to removing Trend Micro Anti-Virus?

Also, has anyone had any luck getting the above mentioned program to stop running at start up? On my install it runs automatically, and the 'unload' option doesn't even work.

Re: uninstall program

Thanks Dave. Unfortunately none of those are for this particular Trend product. I appreciate the effort though.

I will email Trend support...
