Re: start and programs menu

Hey,

You're right. I created a folder under "Start Menu" and Vista stuck it in
with all the ©®@¶ in the "Start Menu\Programs" menu. Now I have switched to
the classic interface, and it shows up properly on my Start Menu. I've
always used the Classic Interface theme with WinXP. Somehow I expect that I
won't be able to get Aero Glass with the classic interface, though (I can't
tell because I don't have a 3D video card yet).

Actually, as I thought about it more, the WinXP theme in XP didn't do Start
Menu customization as well as the classic interface either. Are you a
classic interface user, too? Or are you a pre-XP user?

start menu, programs, insert a new folder then drop the items i wanted into
it. cant find it now to do that.

Re: start and programs menu

You could try right clicking the Start Orb, choose Open All Users (Explore
All Users does the same thing), and add your desired folders, shortcuts,
etc.
Your difficulty lies in the fact that the Start Menu file location hierarchy
has changed quite a bit in Vista--Documents and Settings is no longer used.

Re: start and programs menu

Run a search on 'start menu'.. there are two.. one named, the other public..
create shortcuts to each on your desktop.. so now you can find them easily
and make whatever changes you like..
