| | New Vista software for Lifecam nx6000 goes illegeal on install Recently bought the nx6000 lifecam and fnally got the eagerly awaited software and drivers to us it under Vista. It won't even complete the installation successfully. Having determined the speakers to be used it then asks which microphone to use. Selecting the nx6000 microphone results in the message "lifeExp.exe has stopped working". The latest webcam from Ms, for its latest op sys with the latest software release and it doesn't even get past installing. Any suggestions anyone. (Using Vista RC1). -- patcooke Posted via http://ms-os.com Forum to Usenet gateway |

Quit trying to run new drivers on old beta software. Use the release version of Vista. That is what the drivers are designed for. |

| | LifeCam Vista Drivers Don't feel alone. I installed the production set of drivers for my LifeCam and got the same results. The software finally did install but the results are totally unpredictable with the software faulting everytime I press the Options button. Not sure what the problem is but Microsoft fell down on this one. EggHeadCafe.com - .NET Developer Portal of Choice http://www.eggheadcafe.com |

| | Re: New Vista software for Lifecam nx6000 goes illegeal on install I've now uninstalled the 1.3 software for the cam and laboriously removed all registry entries for it. Just plugged the cam in with no software installed and it basically works. No software support for it to operate zoom etc - but at least it works - provided I don't install the microsoft software which is supposed to support it! -- patcooke Posted via http://ms-os.com Forum to Usenet gateway |

| | RE: New Vista software for Lifecam nx6000 goes illegeal on install I have the same problems, when 1st buying Lifecam a couple of weeks ago and installing it on my Windows XP Prof OS, I got error message which after lots of frustration it was caused by having a logitech cam previously installed, this caused my pc the bluescreen of death over and over, I then resolved that issue by having to download Logitechs latest drivers and now have another with my newly long awaited Windows Vista Home Premium installed. I have installed the Vista software for my lifecam as advised, but the Problem Reports & Solutions keeps advising I need to get the Lifecam update from the Microsot website. I have already done this, but for some reason it does not register. I purchased this product thinking a microsoft hardware product would have no conflicts with microsoft o/s or software. I was thinking about purchasing the new Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 when it is released, but will need to rethink this. | | Re: New Vista software for Lifecam nx6000 goes illegeal on install I have the exact same problem with a brand new machine with Vista installed and a brand new NX6000. | | RE: New Vista software for Lifecam nx6000 goes illegeal on install Has anyone got the nx6000 lifecam to work with vista yet??? Had it 2 months and still no solution. The sollutions on http://support.microsoft.com/ph/11859 don't work and there is no way of reporting this to microsoft. The "Lifecam Team"'s reponse on http://forums.microsoft.com/msr/show...&tf=0&pageid=2 was in adequate when you had so many people in the thread with the same problem.
