Just upgraded

Just finished installing Vista Ultimate ( bought full retail). All I can say
is wow...I'm impressed. Excellent!! Install went flawless, about 45 minutes
beginning to end, no problems at all.
Thanks MS!

Re: Just upgraded

32 Bit. Don't really have the need for 64 bit.

Re: Just upgraded

Hello Bob,

WOW..!!

ALL I have to say is your something else with your UPGRADE..

I just did a UPGRADE at BEST BUY and it took over 4 and 1/2 hours to
upgrade from HP Media Center m1270n to Windows VISTAL Ultimate by the
very polite and professional GEEK SQUAD personell at Best Buy.. They offered
me a chair and I waited for the upgrade (between going to my Dr.'s Office
for the
FLU).. Physically I feel miserable (because of my COLD/FLU), but Vista has
really
brightened up my day.. It is a BEAUTIFUL system.. The ONLY problem that I
still
have with the Ultimate Install is that it will NOT allow me to install
Windows Live One
Care (because it Vista says it is already installed), but it is NOT because
I get a Yellow
Icon in the Windows Security Alerts telling me that I am NOT protected from
Malware
for some WEIRD reason.. Even the GEEK SQUAD at Best Buy could NOT figure
that
problem out..

Ken.

That had to be a clean install. There's no way an upgrade
was finished in 45 minutes.

Re: Just upgraded

Any AV should be uninstalled prior to upgrading,
even if the techs don't tell you that, folks need to
tell them that. Then just reinstall a Vista version of
it afterwards.

If the upgrade advisor (whatever its called) doesn't
tell you to remove an installed AV, remove it anyway.

Re: Just upgraded

Your upgrade time is typical. The first 20 minutes is installing the OS.
All the rest is spent analyzing and then reinstalling your apps and files.

Re: Just upgraded

Who wants to upgrade anyway ? Got a new OS ? Time to format your hard drive
and get rid of all the things you don't use anyway, not speaking of the
leftovers of apps you uninstalled over 2 years.

I installed Vista Enterprise on my Dell Inspiron 6400 and it works just
great. The only thing I miss is adminpack.msi, but I can wait, I'll just use
Remote Desktop to my server.
