| | What build# is the final release? I was given a "pre-release" version of Vista at a recent computer show in Boston. It is later than the RC2 I am currently running. But I'm not sure what if anything is missing between it and the final release. Can someone who has a legit new copy of Vista Ultimate please let me know what the build # is so I can compare? Or if you no whether or not the pre-release being given out at the shows is a final release, let me know too. You can find the build # by clicking the start button and typing in dxdiag. Launch dxdiag, and you'll find the build# there. PS, that search function is addicting. I'll never click the docs folder again. thanks... jf |

| | Re: What build# is the final release? Hi, Others have informed you of the build number, I just wanted to comment on this: > It is later than the RC2 I am currently running. But I'm not sure what if > anything is missing between it and the final release. What's missing in the prerelease versions is the ability to run it after it expires this summer. Otherwise, the feature set was locked down well before this, and the differences are limited to code changes for bugs and additional drivers. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "jimmy fallon" <jimmyfallon@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:675BB20E-A207-4F0A-8C81-D2014B2BA321@microsoft.com... >I was given a "pre-release" version of Vista at a recent computer show in > Boston. > It is later than the RC2 I am currently running.
