Anyone running 64-bit RTM on Intel platform - please can you check a file for me

I'm still unable to backup my "Windows credentials" stuff (from start,
run, control keymgr.dll) as I get an error "A device attached to the
system is not functioning".

I've had a look at the dependencies on keymgr.dll and it's pointing to
a file called gpsvc.dll. This seems to be missing on my system!

I can see the file in Windows\System32, and I can see the file in
Windows\winsxs\AMD64* folders. But there doesn't seem to be a copy for
Windows Vista on Intel 64.

Dependency Walker shows the filename with a big red X, complaining
that it's not there.

Please, could anyone using Vista x64 on an Intel platform, check to
see if they have a file called gpsvc.dll.

I have two Vista installs, both from the same MSDN download, and it's
missing from both.

Many thanks,

Jim

It's in my Windows\System32 folder. There is no separate Intel64 folder -
all 64 bit stuff is under an AMD64 folder. AMD came out with the first 64
bit cpu, so the folder got its name from that.

Running Intel P4 here.

Thanks Jane. I can't help think that this is the problem though. THis
is the Dependency Walker output:

The version in system32 is indeed x86. But gpsvc.dll is also there,
and the security on it is identical to that on the other files which
are working fine.

The plot thickens. If I do a search for keymgr.dll I see it in
System32 and SysWOW64. But gpsvc.dll is NOT in the SysWOW64 folder.
Does it appear in your SysWOW64 folder?

Ok many thanks. Perhaps that's not the cause of the problem after all.
Oh well, guess I'm stuck with it then....
