Vista - Vista Home Premium Activation

Hello,
I Just purchased Vista Home Premium(Academic Edition) and upgraded my home
computer. Before I was running Media Center Edition with the latest updates.
Since the install vista has come up with the message that there is a problem
with my license and the error code: 0xC004D401. I have tried to validate the
product online however that does not work. It is possible that the copy of
Media Center Edition i was using was illegal, however I am unsure. Any help
would be appreciated.
