| | Wireless internet, Vista, and HP I just got a new laptop this morning. It is an HP Pavilion dv2210us and has Windows Vista. I cannot get it to connect to any wireless conections. It won't even detect wireless connections in Panera Bread or at my University. Does anyone know why? |

| | Re: Wireless internet, Vista, and HP Does it have a key to turn on the wireless antenna? Most laptops with built-in wireless have a way to turn it off and on to save on battery life when it's not needed. | | Re: Wireless internet, Vista, and HP I would assume so since the wireless card is built in. In the HP Wireless Assistant "Wireless LAN" shows up as "On", but when I try to detect a connection, nothing comes up. However, I'm sitting in my University Library, so I know there should be a wireless connection. | | Re: Wireless internet, Vista, and HP I am experiencing the same problems with my new HP Pavillion dv 2000. I can not get the wireless connections to display my current wireless network. I have a windows xp that connects just fine but the vista will not. I have turned the firewall off and have checked the device manager to make sure the wireless card was installed properly. I am at a loss. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Kevin "Joe" wrote: > What Firewall program did it come with? | | Re: Wireless internet, Vista, and HP Is the wireless enabled in the Bios? and does the wireless require a key entered from the existing wireless router or is it automatically detected? Call HP if the system is new and have them walk you through it when all else fails. It's easier than the frustration and it's under warranty if it's new.
