| | ReadyBoost Three days ago I installed the Windows Upgrade for Vista Home Premium. At that time I was able to click on properties for my 1GB Flash Drive and set it up as my ReadyBoost. This worked and it speeded up my bootup time. However, for some reason, yesterday I noticed it was not using ReadyBoost and when I tried to set it up again, it gave me an error message saying the device lacked the speed to be setup as ReadyBoost. The same thing is happening on my notebook where I installed the OEM version of Vista Home Premium. Seems very strange! Can someone tell me how to get ReadyBoost working again. Thanks, Larry Buss |

Can someone tell me how to get ReadyBoost working again. I have found that ReadyBoost will stop working sometimes. Especially, after waking from Sleep or Hibernation. Most of the time you won't realize it, either. Format the device. Test it again, it may take two or three tests. Other info about ReadyBoost: ReadyBoost can be a tricky thing to get working on some flash drives, and a lot of flash drives just aren't fast enough for ReadyBoost. Try this first; Go into Device Manager>Disk Drives Find your flash drive. Double click it. Policies tab. Make sure "Optimize for performance" is checked. Test again. Sometimes even formatting the drive can do the trick. Either FAT or FAT32. Make sure it's not plugged into a USB hub. Or, try plugging it into another slot.
