Re: ACPI Error Event 6

Hi,

Certainly sounds like a BIOS issue - have you checked for an update?

ACPI Error Event 6

I running Vista Ultimate X86 (32bit) and everything in Device Mgr looks
great. I'm running a pretty simple setup: All Hardware & Software are
Vista Compliant.

However, even after having performed clean install a couple of times (just
experimenting & learning reasons) I continue to receive Event 6 ACPI Error:

"(IRQARB: ACPI BIOS does not contain an IRQ for the device in PCI slot ,
function 0)"

ATK0110 ACPI Utility shows to be installed in my MS Updates

In the bios ACPI Suspend Type is set (default) to S1S3

ACPI APIC Support is set (default) to Enabled

Is this a bios issue ?

My Specs are:

M2N-E Mobo (Bios 305)
AMD X2 5200+
GForce 7900GT
2 GB Corsair XMS PC2 6400

Thanks for your comments.

Re: ACPI Error Event 6

This seems to be common with nforce4 chipsets. Whether it's just the chipset
or chipset plus nvidia graphic card I don't know. Be nice to know if anyone
with nforce4 and ati cards also get it. It seems nvidia is burying their
heads in the sand and ignoring the problem, most I've gotten from their tech
support and asus is "there is no problem with asus board" and "nforce4
drivers are included in vista and we've no intention of upgrading at this
time". heh, NV have already just dropped vista support for nforce3 so can 4
be far behind?

Re: ACPI Error Event 6

ASUS A8N Sli Premium/8800GTX.....looks like I'm screwed two times.

Yeah , I read other places on the web that the problem is Ndidia/ASUS/MS
Vista mixed , but I also read thst MS and ASUS are aware of the prob and
working on a fix.
The problem with that is they already released an update that fixes one of
the ACPI devices but not the other and i don't know if that will be the end
of their fixes for this issue.

This is a tidbit I found about the ATK0110:

"The ATK stands for AsusTek, meaning ATK0110 is registered to
Asus, for their use as a pseudo-device. It is an alternate means
to access things like the clock generator, or multiplier settings
and the like, when you want to change overclock settings while
sitting in Windows."

And here is a link to Anandtech fourms to a post that says that a fix may
be on the way:

http://forums.anandtech.com/messagev...&enterthread=y

that is all I can find on this issue , I hoep there is a fix soon.

Re: ACPI Error Event 6

I am having a similar issue with my new system. I bought it last night, and
during Vista's Sysprep, I had a Blue Screen (0x00007A/Kernel Data Inpage
Error). Upon checkin the system logs I got this ACPI Error. I am about to
blow away Vista and load good old XP, I just dont know if that will fix the
problem. My system brand new out of the box is...
Asus AST180
Athalon 64 x2 4000+
512Mb
Nvidia 6100 (integrated graphics, but still Nvidia Drivers)
.... I can reproduce this blue screen everytime I run Futuremark's 3dMark
Benchmarking utility. Any suggestions? Short of waiting for Asus's bios
update?

Re: ACPI Error Event 6

Go to the Asus site and download the ATK0110 ACPI Utility.
I had the same problem on my M2N SLI Deluxe and it fixed the problem.
