| | no network I installed vista ultimate update and then after downloading the drivers for my sound card my network quit working. I am unable to connect to the Internet. I have another computer in the room and it connects fine to the Internet. It is running Windows XP. I have them running through a router LInksys WRT54GC. My XP computer connects through the router or directly. I have tried both with the Vista but no go. Am I missing something on the Vista that I should be aware of for connecting. I can't understand why I was connected and then it just dropped. I have tried rolling the system back to before installing the sound card driver but no luck. I really need help. Thanks in advance! |

| | Re: no network I got it. When Vista was installed it turned on the DNS Client in Services. I just had to disable that and all is well. ![]() "Rock" <rock@nospam.net> wrote in message news:%239N7PR1RHHA.4384@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > "Denny" <notreal@golf.net> wrote > >>I installed vista ultimate update and then after downloading the drivers >>for my sound card my network quit working.
