ENCRYPTING FILE SYSTEM

When I used XP Pro (less than 3 weeks ago) on my PC I had at some point
followed a Microsoft article on Technet to create a registry key that
changed the default DES encryption for EFS to the stronger 3DES.....

Is 3DES enabled by default in Vista? - If not can I safely use my registry
key in Vista (ie are the registry entries the same?

This is the key....

RE: ENCRYPTING FILE SYSTEM

AES_256 is the default algorithm for EFS in Vista and in WinXP SP1-and up.
AES is stronger and more secure than 3DES. You can enable the 3DES registry
key in Vista, but you will be enabling a weaker algorithm.

Here's more info on that:

Thanks.
