Slow "right click" and Permissions issues

Ever since I updated to windows Vista home premium, I have had a horrible
time using my right click feature to rename files, delete files, etc.

I've reviewed the items in my shell and there are only a handful other than
those by Microsoft. The only one that could have possibly caused the problem
was WinRar which i've since disabled. I still get a very, VERY long lag when
I right click on an icon.

The second issue is that the computer will not let me access or save items
telling me I do not have permission to do so. I AM THE ONLY PERSON ON THIS
COMPUTER!

I tried to save a picture from photoshop to the "My Pictures" folder in my
documents and I cannot because I do not have access! I've gone to the
control panel to see if there's any global permission settings I need to
change and there are not.

Please help!

Aaron

If you feel that WinRar is responsible for the delay, you need to uninstall
that program and reboot the sytem, not just disable it.

For your second issue, the My Documents and My Pictures folder are are no
longer used and are only there for legacy programs that try to access them.
For these programs, the folders act as a pointer to the new locations for
these items.

The new location for My Documents is C:\Users\<your user name>\Documents and
for My Pictures it is C:\Users\<your user name>\Pictures.
