Set Single Click for Mouse - How

Hi - just installed Vista. I can't figure out how to set the mouse to
single click. Right now I have to double click the icons.

Question: How do I change to single click?

One other thing - I got a laugh that Microsoft is still using a default
sound for Start Navigation. For heaven sakes - turn that off. LOL.

Thanks

Joe

Click Start > Control Panel > (set to "Classic View) > click System > under
General tab > select the "Single-click to open an item (point to select)
radio box and click OK.

Re: Set Single Click for Mouse - How

I am having a bit of a problem using the Classic View:

http://home.cfl.rr.com/jbmsbink/ControlPanel.jpg

As you can see by the above screenshot - Classic View is opened, but when I
click System, I get this:

http://home.cfl.rr.com/jbmsbink/Systemscreenshot.jpg

Clearly, that's the wrong panel. In fact, a number of panels open
incorrectly. However, in the non-Classic view, I can access the correct
panels, and I was able to change to single click.

Thanks

Joe

Re: Set Single Click for Mouse - How

LOL Andre - no problem - you've been a big help.

There's something not working right in the Control Panel Classic mode. I
keep getting a pop-up saying my audio driver is the wrong one, although I
downloaded the Vista Beta Driver from Realtek and Vista says it installed
correctly. Those two problems might be related.

BTW - where is Add/Remove programs?

That's easy.
Open any folder, like My documents or Pictures, etc.
Over the left pane, click on Organize
Go to Folder and Search Options
In the third section down, click on Single Click to Open an item.
Click OK.
