Vista - bf2142 ingame sound problems

My friend is having a bit of trouble with vista and my mic and headset and
would like your opinions! When i plug in my mic/headset i can hear my own
voice through the earphones as well as any music i am listening to. Also
while playing bf2142 my team canot hear me when we use in game chat. I cannot
seem to be able to alter the bass and treble either(in bf2 it sounds like
someone is rattling a biscuit tin when you are firing) though out of game it
seems ok, any ideas guys???????

There is a vista.games newsgroup you might want to post to. Not sure how
many people from there watch this group.

Check the audio option and make sure the setting is on hardware
acceleration.
