No Text in User Folder

I'm not sure what has changed, but my user folder now does not display text
next to the icons when I'm in one of the "icon" modes. You can see here what
I mean:

http://img475.imageshack.us/img475/1...rissue1qj3.jpg

I tried modifying the desktop.ini file, but there isn't one in the folder.
I tried resetting all folder displays and it not fix the problem. This
behavior only comes up when my user folder is opened using the special link
either on the dektop or start menu. If I navigate there directly
(C:\Users\...) the folder works fine. Also if I open the folder in a
program’s File/Open window, the display works fine.

This second picture shows that the text works when set to display Tiles (the
text also displays properly in Details view):

This is an odd bug and minor annoyance. Has anyone else seen this or have
an idea as to how to repair this?

Change to the list view, then hold down ctrl and click on one of the icon
views. It's a toggle.

Re: No Text in User Folder

I think it's the <Shift> key, but it's acting weird for me, too. I managed
to lose text on details view!!!

Re: No Text in User Folder

Now i've done it:
First it kinda trimed the labels, like the icon above it was overlayed about
half of the text...then i closed it and re-opened it and all 'icon' views
have no text. Details, list and tile view still labelled...keep you posted.

It was shift in XP, but I was toggling with both of them and thought ctrl is
what changed it once, but not repeatable. I found the way..lol. Right
click a blank area of the windows and uncheck Hide text names
